Compile How To
« on: August 13, 2008, 12:05:03 am »
Hello,
I'm new here. First of all, I want to thank ntldr for this great software.
My question is if there is a "how to" to compile the source code? I would like to remove some interface stuff, so administrators won't do any mistakes.
I already have WDK installed and Visual Studio 2008 Full, when compiling the 0.2.6 version I'm getting the following error:

Error   1   fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'ntoskrnl.lib'   driver      driver
Warning   2   The following environment variables were not found: $(DDK)   Project   driver

I tried to set then environment variable DDK pointing to C:\WinDDK\6001.18001 but the error continued.

When compiling 0.3 I get:

Error   1   fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'bin\gf128mul.obj'   boot   boot

Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Lero

Please install FASM (http://flatassembler.net/) and set environment variable 'fasm' pointing to fasm directory

Thanks, ntldr, but I forgot to say that I already had fasm installed and configured by the time of my first post. I don't know if there is some extra configuration. I put the fasm on c:\fasm and already have an environment variable.

Thanks.

I'm trying to compile on a WinXP 32 bit machine. Should I try compiling on 2003 Server 64 bit?

Thanks
