Is the project alive?

Is the project alive? Or dead? Why did the site suddenly come alive? Who is gr2y? And when to wait for a new version of the program?

The project may be dead, considering the 2+ year absence of its developer.

But perhaps that isn't important. What matters more is whether or not the PRODUCT is dead. And until we see evidence that the encryption algorithm has been defeated, or compromised, or is broken by an OS update ... the product is very much ALIVE.

Exactly. This thing is rock-stable still! I just switched to Win 10 Creators Update (slimmed down with www.ntlite.com as usually) and DiskCryptor works like a charm even with this latest Win 10 update. Not sure what exactly must be changed, so I think even though there are no more new versions, it just does what it is supposed to do really perfect. I never suffered a single data-loss in the last 8 years that I´ve been using it, even though I had many crashes:) Big respect to the developer for making such a rock-solid product and giving it to us for free!
